Lift them Up!
Laketeria is now a college student in her second year at Houston Community College at the Health Science Center
She is a sophomore in the Human Service Program and the manager of novelty store.
Through hard work and determination she exemplifies one example of the success of Lift Them Up
Lift Them Up client services include case management, adult education, job training, and employment assistance.
Women enrolled in Lift Them Up want to become self-sufficient. Our adult literacy center provides GED & ESL, along with childcare.
Ladies learn job preparation skills & job development skills necessary to seek employment in the career fields of their choice.
Ladies use these workforce skills and confidence to compete for the job of their choice or enter the career field of their choice.
Self-sufficiency means having social; emotional; intellectual, and occupational skills required to apply; accept, and maintain employment
in high growth fields or a field that allows you to care for children and feed your family.
Women that enroll in Lift them Up are empowered and prepared to enjoy the economic benefits of employment
Women are empowered to shape their destiny and the destiny of their children.
Lift them Up program is not based on income; it is based on the desire to become self-sufficient.
Divorce, abuse, and abandonment bring some women to our door. We are here to empower women.
Program Services are Free to those funded by WIA/TANF/VET or other grant funded programs.
Individuals must meet with an admission counselor to get a fee schedule and class schedule.
Seminars and workshops are available to women in transition; we know that income does notalways translate to freedom
Eligibility Guidelines
Applicant can be mothers and expectant mothers who meet federal or state guidelines for social services or subsidized housing
WIC; Medicare or Medicaid; SNAP, TANF; including mothers who are unemployed;& underemployed due to deficits in education and job training
Veterans Welcome
Veterans, wives of veterans; and widows of veterans are welcome.
Women and Children in Crisis
Recently divorced mothers, mothers experiencing the hardship of a pending divorce or separation are welcome
. Mothers who are fleeing domestic violence, human trafficking,
or eviction please call for support service and referrals.
